Check the situation before the controls
Is the door closed, partly open or visibly crooked? Look from a safe position for an object in the opening, a loose cable or an obvious gap in a spring. Do not put yourself underneath a partly open door.
Compare the remote and wall control
A remote battery or control problem differs from a door that is mechanically stuck. Note whether the motor runs, the lights flash or the wall control acts differently. Follow the instructions for your exact operator model.
Know when to stop
Do not force the opener, loosen spring hardware or repeatedly cycle a door that is uneven. A heavy or unstable door needs a service assessment. Call with the door position, symptoms and model details.
Read the equipment guidance
Use the instructions for your exact equipment. The Chamberlain Group manuals and parts library and Clopay care and maintenance manuals provide manufacturer context. These links are reference material, not a claim of a dealer relationship.
