The replacement must match the door
Spring selection depends on the door weight, dimensions and lift configuration. Springs that look similar can have different specifications. A quote should relate to the correct assembly and the work needed to restore its operation; an online price for a loose spring is not the same as installed service.
One spring or a matched pair?
Some doors use one spring and others use more than one. The remaining spring condition and the system design matter when considering a pair. Ask why the proposed scope includes one component or both. A general rule cannot replace an assessment of the particular door.
Related hardware may need attention
Cables, drums, bearings and other lifting components interact with the springs. Ask which additional items are being recommended and why. Keep compatibility, necessary repairs and optional changes clear in the quote so you can understand what the service is intended to accomplish.
Bring the right information to the call
Describe the door position, visible spring damage and any loose cable. A door label or clear photo can help, but final specifications still need confirmation. Do not remove a tensioned component to measure it or bring it to a parts counter. Discuss both parts and installation safely.
